Debut i Tre Kronor 15/11 -57 spelade 2 A-landskamper

Kjell Adrian. Kjell startade sin ishockeykarriär i början på 40-talet i Forshaga varifrån han värvades till dåvarande Div IV-laget GAIS. Genom bl a Kjells medverkan avancerade GAIS på tre år till Div I.

Efter ett gästspel i BK Kenty, Div II engagerades Kjell 1962 i Västra Frölunda där han hörde till de tongivande i laget i flera år med ett SM som belöning.

1967 värvades Kjell ner i Wasa och från och med 1970 i HVIK där han tillhörde lagets nyttigaste spelare.

Ingen spelare har som Kjell vårdat sin klubba genom att behandla pucken varsamt och ingen har kunnat skjuta bättre placerade dragskott än Kjell.

Swedish defenceman Thommie Bergman caused a stir in the NHL when he was signed as a free agent by the Detroit Red Wings in March 1972. His arrival ushered in a new era as the NHL and WHA began to look to Sweden and Finland for talent in the early 1970s. The talented blueliner was solid at both ends of the ice and enjoyed success in the NHL with the Wings and in the WHA with the Winnipeg Jets.

Born in Munkfors, Sweden, Bergman excelled on the Sodertalje and Vastra Frolunda clubs and represented his country at the 1972 Sapporo Olympics and the World Championships in 1971 and 1972. He scored 21 points on the improved Red Wings in 1972-73 before battling injuries and thugs over the next two seasons. He sought a more appealing style of hockey in the WHA with the speedy Winnipeg Jets.

Bergman thrived on the Jets' blueline for three and a half years and played for Sweden at the inaugural Canada Cup in 1976. He re-signed with Detroit in March 1978 and joined the club in time for its playoff match-up against the powerful Montreal Canadiens. He scored a personal high 27 points in 1978-79 but only played 28 games the following season. #7 Arto Blomsten

Not many young hockey players are mature enough to play pro hockey at the age of 18, and especially defense, but 6'4" Arto Blomsten was one of the exceptions. He earned a full-time roster spot with Djurgardens IF of the Swedish Elite League. In 1985 he played for Team Sweden at the World Junior Championships.

While playing with Djurgardens, NHL scouts noticed the big defender and although he lacked goal-scoring prowess and seemed to play rather soft for a man of his size, it was felt he could be molded into a more aggressive North American-style defenseman. The Winnipeg Jets had a long history of selecting excellent talent from European Leagues, especially Sweden, and they felt they had found a diamond in the rough with Blomsten when they found him still available in the 12th round, 239th overall in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Some claim he was drafted so late due to his age at the time, 21, but others said there were concerns over his lack of speed and aggressiveness.

The Winnipeg Jets waited seven long years for Blomsten who preferred to remain with Djurgardens in Sweden. He was eventually convinced to give the NHL a try in 1993. It's safe to say the Jets wished they hadn't waited. More times than not he looked awkward and slow and he seemed to back down when the going got rough, which was quite often. After just 19 games with the Jets, they gave up on Blomsten and traded him to the Los Angeles Kings where he lasted just six games.http://www.legendsofhockey.net

The NHL style is not for many players, especially those who prefer a more wide-open, less physical brand of play. Blomsten came to that realization and returned to Sweden where he played until 2000, retiring as a member of Vasteras IK.

Right-winger Serge Boisvert was a creative offensive player who played 46 NHL games in the 1980s. The majority of his success came in junior and on the international stage.

Boisvert was a scoring machine in the QMJHL with the Sherbrooke Castors. After recording consecutive 50-goal seasons in 1979 and 1980, he was signed as a free agent by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The young forward spent a year in the AHL with the New Brunswick Hawks followed by a season in Japan with the Yukisiruski club.

Boisvert played 17 games with Toronto as a rookie but spent most of his time in the minors. He was traded to the Edmonton Oilers but never played an NHL game for them. After signing as a free agent with the Montreal Canadiens, Boisvert was a mostly farmhand who was called up for a few games as an injury replacement in each of his four years with the club.

Early in the 1987-88 season, Boisvert committed himself to the Canadian National Team. He scored 22 goals in 63 exhibition games then scored seven goals in eight matches for the team at the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Following the Olympics, Boisvert signed with the HC Davos club in Switzerland then played five years in Sweden with Vastra Frolunda. He retired in 1999 after playing five years in Norway

From the time he began playing organized hockey with St. Boniface, Boyko was a natural scoring star. He played Triple A hockey from the age of seven to 15, and led his team in total points each season. One particularly memorable season for Boyko was taking part in the famous Quebec Pee-Wee hockey tournament, although the final result was somewhat bittersweet. His team lost their opener in an upset, which put them on the consolation side, where they went on to win the rest of their games, coasting to the Consolation championship. The Peterborough, Ontario club which topped them in the opener, lost in the championship finals to another Winnipeg team, led by future NHL star Brett Hull. The Saints and Boyko had consistently beaten Hull's team in each of the league games back in Winnipeg, and felt they could have done so again on a national stage, but the opportunity was lost.

By the age of 16, Boyko was playing Tier Two Junior A with the Boniface Saints and led the league in scoring, with 48 goals and 116 points in just 48 games. The following year, he made the move to major junior hockey, joining the Winnipeg Warriors of the Western Hockey League. It was a difficult decision for Boyko, who also recognized the value of an education. Playing major junior hockey would make him ineligible for any U.S. hockey scholarship, but it was certainly a more direct route for those with NHL aspirations. Despite a tremendous WHL rookie season, where he scored 35 goals and 72 points in 65 games, Boyko was not selected in the NHL draft, something which still puzzles him to a certain degree even to this day. From there, he knew his route to the NHL would be made much more difficult, and with U.S. college hockey no longer an option, decided to return to the Warriors for another season. Undeterred, Boyko suited up for the Warriors in 1982-83 and led the team in scoring with 49 goals and 130 points in 72 games, but once again was left unclaimed in the NHL Entry Draft.

At the age of 19, Boyko could have returned for another year of eligibility with the Warriors, but realized it would not accomplish much in terms of advancing his career, having twice been overlooked in the NHL draft. Still keenly interested in obtaining an education, Boyko enrolled at the University of Toronto where he played two years with the Varsity Blues. It was while playing for the Blues that Boyko was coached by two well-known bench bosses, Mike Keenan in his first year and Tom Watt in his second, where Boyko also had the honour of serving as team captain. Once again Boyko was near the top of the offensive scoring categories, collecting 84 points in both seasons with the team.

In 1985-86, the opportunity to play professional hockey in Finland came about. That same year Boyko also suited up for four games with the Canadian National Team at the Izvestia Cup tournament, joining the likes of Cliff Ronning, Mike Millar, Trent Yawney and Tony Hrkac on squad coached by Dave King. In the summer of 1985, Boyko received a phone call from former coach Keenan, who had just guided the Philadelphia Flyers to the Stanley Cup finals in his rookie NHL season, where they lost to the Edmonton Oilers. Keenan inquired whether Boyko would be interested in signing a two-way contract and try out with the Flyers that fall. As tempting as it was, Boyko felt cracking the Flyers' lineup would be doubtful at best and he had no desire to spend an entire season in the American Hockey League, especially with the much more lucrative and otherwise desirable offer to play in Finland on the table.

During his rookie season in Helsinki, Boyko played in 36 games, scoring 18 goals and 44 points to finish among the team leaders. He played another three years in Helsinki, when in October of 1988, he had the opportunity to suit up for what was to be his one and only NHL game, skating for the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets played host to the Boston Bruins that night, coming up on the short end of a 5-2 score. Boyko also played in eight exhibition games with the Jets, but other than that, his entire professional career was spent in Europe.

Boyko spent a total of eleven years with the same team in Helsinki, making him one of the longest-serving foreign players in the league. He was once the all-time leader in points-scored by a foreign-born player, and remains second on the list to this day. During his entire career in Helsinki, Boyko was the model of offensive consistency, always scoring at least 30 points each season. During the latter stages of his career with the team, he was asked to serve as the team's captain. However, he felt uneasy about assuming that role, and preferred the title go to someone with a stronger command of the Finnish language, so necessary when dealing with referees. Boyko did accept the role as the team's assistant captain during his final two years in Helsinki. He also centered a line with future NHLers Sami Kapanen and Ville Peltonen on the wings, to form one of the strongest offensive units in the Finnish League. Despite their scoring prowess, Helsinki was never able to win a championship during Boyko's tenure, finishing runner-up twice and third on three occasions.

Two of Boyko's fondest memories of Finland came in 1994, when his Helsinki team played in the 1994 NHL International Challenge, where a touring NHL club played against the Finnish clubs in a pre-season tournament. As it happens, the NHL team that year was the Winnipeg Jets, with whom Boyko played his one NHL game. Despite putting up a strong effort, Helsinki came out on the losing end of a 5-2 score. The other game was against the Canadian National Team in the Spengler Cup. Boyko had a highly successful career in Finland, but he notes that it almost came to an end after just a couple of years. In the late 1980s, with the fall of communism in the former Soviet Union, Russian star Igor Larionov was the property of the Helsinki club and was scheduled to join the team. Boyko assumed that would likely spell the end of his tenure in Helsinki, with the club certain to select Larionov as its top-line center. However, as fate would have it, Larionov managed to gain a release from his contractual obligations and was permitted to sign with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks, thus leaving Boyko as the team's top center for many more years.

In 1996-97, Boyko recognized his playing days were coming to an end. The opportunity to play a season in Germany came about, and although he was not overly interested in moving at first, he says the experience of playing there was tremendous. In 32 games with the Berlin Capitals he scored 22 points and played alongside the likes of former NHLers Tony Tanti and John Chabot.

Meanwhile off the ice, Boyko was setting himself up for life after hockey in the business world, and completed his MBA program in 1995, graduating from the Helsinki International School of Economics.

Since his retirement from hockey in 1997, Boyko has worked with the International Ice Hockey Federation as an International Consultant in the Public Relations and Marketing Department, in conjunction with the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. Boyko can usually still be found lacing up the blades and demonstrating some of his hockey prowess on a Friday afternoon in a weekly pickup game with friends and fellow workers from the Hockey Hall of Fame.http://www.legendsofhockey.net

In 1987-88, Brunetta turned pro with the Fredericton Express of the AHL. He began the year with an impressive 4-1-0 mark and was called up to the Nordiques, where he played 29 games. He had an official 10-12-1 record with a 3.72 gaa. The following year he played in just five games with Quebec, sporting a 5.04 gaa while going 1-2-0. The balance of the year was spent with the AHL's Halifax Citadels. Brunetta appeared in six more games for the Nordiques in 1989-90, which turned out to be the final games of his NHL career. Again, the balance of his season was spent in Halifax with the Citadels.

Brunetta was released by the Nordiques and was unable to generate interest from other NHL teams, so he packed up and moved to Italy where he joined the Asiago club of the Italian Elite League. He played there for two years before moving on to Milan for another two years. In 1996-97, Brunetta signed with the Berlin Polar Bears of the DEL where he was the team's top goaltender for three years. In 1999-00 he played 50 games in Sweden for Vastra Frolunda HC Goteborg. Brunetta returned to Germany in 2000-01 to play for Ingolstadt.

His first job back home in Sweden was as a truck driver, but hockey was more to his liking so Carnback did what he could to make a career of it. Like many Swedes who made it to the NHL, he began and finished his career in his home and native land, including a brief pit stop in 1994-95 during the owners lockout,

Montreal drafted him 125th overall in 1988 but it would be another four years before he agreed to move to Canada to try the NHL game. He played only six games with the Habs before being traded to Anaheim, and in 1993-94 he had a dozen goals on the year. Over the next two seasons, though, he spent as much time in the minors as with the Ducks, and midway through 1995-96 he abandoned the NHL and moved to Germany and later back to Sweden.

Carnback also had plenty of international experience. He played in the World Juniors in 1988, won a gold medal at the 1992 World Championships and a bronze two years later, and played at the Albertville Olympics in 1992 Text från http://www.legendsofhockey.net.

Defenceman Per Djoos played briefly with the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers in the 80s. He was a fine offensive player with good mobility who was best suited for the larger ice surfaces of Europe.

Born in Mora, Sweden, Djoos played with his home town club before moving over to the Brynas IF squad in 1986-87. He played for Sweden at the European Junior Championships in 1986 and was named to the tournament all-star team. The talented youngster was drafted 127th overall by the Wings in 1986 then represented his country at the 1988 World Junior Championships.

After playing for Sweden at the 1990 World Championships, Djoos played 26 games as an NHL rookie with Detroit. He also saw significant time in the minors then joined the New York Rangers in a late season trade. After playing 50 games for the Blueshirts in 1991-92, Djoos spent most of the next season in the AHL. He enjoyed a strong year with 69 points for the Binghamton Rangers and a place on the AHL second all-star team. I

In 1993-94, Djoos headed back to Europe and averaged nearly a point per game for HC Lugano of Switzerland. He returned to Sweden the next season and played for Vastra Frolunda and Brynas.Text Från http://www.legendsofhockey.net

Born in Bollebydg, Sweden Gustavsson spent two years as a utility player with Vastra Frolunda beginning in 1977-78. In 1979-80 he broke through with 14 goals after being given more ice time and responsibility.

Gustavsson signed as a free agent with the Rockies in May, 1981 but spent most of the next season with the Fort Worth Texans of the CHL. He abandoned his North American experiment after a year and returrned to Vastra Frolunda where he competed for two more years before retiring in 1984 text från legends of hockey.
